A Virtual Studio-Set System of High Speed and High Functional Performance Realized with Dedicated Hardware

NHK and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. have jointly developed a virtual studio-set system adopting the CG generation dedicated hardware based on their unique architecture. The newly developed system is characterized by its high speed, high functional performance, and its low cost, space-saving and low power consumption. — This paper describes the details of the development of this system, its functions and performance characteristics, together with how it is operated in the actual studio program production.
