Impact of 5.1 Audio in Television Production and Distribution
In this paper we will survey the current audio for television production paradigm and investigate the change from 2 channel stereo to 5.1 channel surround. — Some real world examples with details regarding the difficulties encountered will be discussed. Future technical and operational requirements will be proposed. The current status of standards and practices for 5.1 will be explained.
