Log #74: Controlling Complex Broadcast Infrastructures

Julian Williams

Making the complex simple - The key to managing broadcast systems is the integration of control in a way which matches the intuitive thought processes involved in the operation. This paper will discuss the design considerations in the construction of a control system for the broadcast environment including both human factors and engineering criteria. It will show how the desired broadcast processes can be mapped into the design of the control system. Computer science principles such as object-based design and human computer interaction are discussed in order to provide a clear understanding.
