Lessons My Mother (Ma Bell) Taught Me about Compatible Variable Bit Rate Video
With three separate industries proceeding with their own agendas, the advent of digital video products and services could produce a new nightmare of multiple incompatible signal formats and connectivity requirements. This paper will examine the possibility of using the variable bit rate concept of the telecommunications standard H.261 to provide a single multi-application signal standard consisting of the integration of 4:2:2 digital component and the JPEG and/or MPEG computer video standard.
