Considerations for Digital Video Storage Systems
The professional television industry is entering a new era where many of the required tasks can be accomplished by utilizing technologies and subsystems developed for general purpose computing rather than utilizing custom systems developed specifically for television applications. This new freedom brings many new choices which require careful consideration. In this presentation we will discuss—from a pragmatic system implementation perspective—two topics, which will be key to many of the systems selections facing the professional television industry over the next decade.
