Effective Nearly Lossless Compression of Digital Video Sequences
We present a non-linear filtering technique for digital video to enable improved nearly lossless compression. In contrast to preprocessing techniques, our technique uses the compression algorithm for both filtering and compression in one step, by exploiting the property that random noise is hard to compress.
