A New High Resolution Plumbicon Tube

A. Franken

In the last few years, there has been an increasing interest in high resolution television systems that have a high number of lines and/or “slow scan.” The interest seems to be associated with closed circuit television. In this context one might think, for example, of electronic cinematography where the image is recorded directly on to magnetic tape instead of film. The advantage is that electronic signal processing techniques can be used, and the image is available for playback almost immediately after having been recorded.
