Introduction to Communications of the Future

Our Society was privileged on May 1 to have at its Technical Conference as guest speaker Dr. Peter C. Goldmark. Dr. Goldmark's informal lecture, “It Is Later Than You Think,” was an adaptation of a lecture entitled “The New Rural Society” which he presented as a Poynter Fellow of Yale University where it was sponsored by the University's 1972 Seminars in Modern Journalism. The lecture, somewhat revised for printed presentation, appears on the following pages.
