An Overview of the Mechanical Building Systems for the CBC Toronto Broadcast Centre

This article provides an overview of the life-safety, air conditioning, and heating systems for the new CBC Broadcast Centre in Toronto. The 1.7 million sq. ft. radio and television Broadcast Centre is a complex building that requires a high degree of flexibility during operation of its mechanical systems. The major mechanical systems are described, as well as some details concerning air quality and the cooling of technical equipment racks.
