Real-Time Animation with the Chyron Transform™
Many of the traditional methods of applying animation to graphics involve the use of specialized, nonreal-time devices that are generally not appropriate for live productions such as sports or news operations. A new type of graphics system was designed that combined a full-function graphics generator with a powerful real-tine animation engine. It was decided that this would be an object-oriented system, allowing the animation engine to apply any number of general motion effects to any numer of graphics. Furthermore, the animation engine would be capable of choreographing the trajectories of multiple olbjects simultaneously. The ultimate success of the concept and design is illustrated by reviewing the use of the system during the recent election coverage and Olympics.
