Poised at the entrance ramp to the information superhighway, it is quite exciting to contemplate the hitech future that awaits. It is a great challenge to keep up with and prepare for the dizzying pace of this new digital technology. However, its siren call is intoxicating and its effects are being felt to a greater and greater degree with every passing moment. The first manifestation of this new digital world has been the conversion from analog to digital technology for signal representation and manipulation. This is most evident in the broad array of digital devices introduced during the past year.
