B. Lamborelle, A. Legault, J. Matey, T. Mattioli

In order to take complete advantage of cost-effective PC-based editing, compositing, and graphics systems, it is important to understand the role of the latest compression technologies such as DV, DV50, and MPEG-2, as well as digital interconnect technologies such as IEEE-1394 and SDTI. This paper offers some guidelines for achieving optimal video quality and maximizing throughput and productivity in a post-production operation.
