Novel Lens Designs for Motion-Picture Cameras

E. Glatzel

Novel lens designs of the retrofocus type are described. They show an increased imaging performance for motion-picture cameras. The increase in performance is based on relaxation in the lens system — smaller angles of incidence and refractive powers. This is achieved in short-construction objectives by making one optical surface aspherical, and in other multi-element objectives, by allowing an increased overall constructional length.
