A Software-Based Television Image-Analysis System
Based on a commercial minicomputer, the “Magiscan” uses software both to identify features of interest in optically presented images and then to make measurements on them. This use of software rather than a hardwired approach gives the system great flexibility. Three graded programming languages are available for applications ranging from simple feature-counting and area measurement to the most advanced problems in medical and materials research.
