Color Error Formulas

A modification of the CIE 1964 (U*V*W*) color-difference formula suggested recently by Schroeder is shown to be very similar to the CIE 1976 (L*u*v*) formula. The latter is therefore advocated to promote uniformity of practice in rating color errors in television systems.
