Digital Audio Formats for Recording and Digital Communication

The basic audio chain extends from source to listener. Some recently developed digital audio equipment is briefly described. The importance of editing is indicated, and editing strategy is described. For digital audio recorders, error correction is a basic requirement, and certain algorithms for accomplishing it are mentioned. Specifications are given for different types of digital audio recorders, Finally, digital communication is discussed in general, using an input/output format as an example.
