Roland J. Zavada, SMPTE Engineering Vice-President, 1980–1981, Biographical Sketch
Roland J. Zavada, Technical Associate of Eastman Kodak Company, is the SMPTE Engineering Vice-President. He was born in Gary, Indiana. In 1950, he was graduated from Purdue University with the Degree of B.Sc. in Chemistry. Following graduation, he joined Eastman Kodak as a product engineer. Shortly thereafter, he was recalled into the U. S. Air Force to serve in the Korean War. Returning to the United States and Eastman Kodak, he attended the Rochester School of Technology, where he studied Photographic Science, graduating in 1954. Through the University of Rochester's evening school program, he was granted the M.S. degree in Business Administration in 1960.
