Silver Recovery from Process ECP-2 Washwaters by Ion-Exchange Methods
An ion-exchange method for the recovery of silver from dilute fix washwater has been developed. The soluble silver thiosulfate complexes are adsorbed on either weak-base or strong-base resins, then eluted in a concentrated form by the appropriate regenerant. The silver is then recovered from the regenerant by electrolysis. The pertinent parameters affecting resin exhaustion and regeneration and an example of a complete system are described.
