Signal Representations in the Time and Frequency Domains
A comparison is made between the representation of some simple signals in the time domain and in the frequency domain. Waveform and spectrum displays are examined for a cosine wave, a square wave, and a pulse train. The examination leads to the introduction of the function known as the sinc function. Reciprocal relationships between the time domain and the frequency domain are stated.
