A Historical Perspective of Québec's Cinema

The author discusses the present state of the French film in Canada and its relationship to the National Film Board. Because of Québec's French-speaking population, the film in Canada is a unique experience in the cultural and linguistic sense. Despite the many difficulties surrounding the French film in Canada, the dilemma of the filmmaking industry in Québec deserves special attention.
