Videotape—Past, Present, and Future

Jerry P. Zaludek

This is a brief history of the development and growth of videotape in Canada. The story begins a brief twenty years ago, when live TV production meant a nightmare of things that could - and did - go wrong. The paper describes the arrival of electronic editing, color, and the nonbroadcast use of videotape, and it concludes with a prophesy of things to come.
