Digital Audio Interfacing — A Progress Report from the Audio Engineering Society
This paper details the deliberations of the AES in proposing recommended standards for Digital Audio Signal Interfacing, an important emerging technology. Many areas of consideration are outlined, and specific, part-by-part performance requirements are given, as well as overall performance levels. A detailed account of past work in the field, meetings of the AES, and future considerations are given. Two specific proposals are listed in the article: one is by Sony/Studer/EBU, the other by Mitsubishi Corp.
