A Component Analog News Studio Center

Graham J. Deaves

The arrival of small-format ENG video recorders using separate luminance and chrominance recording techniques has opened the door for further component processing within a studio center. There are definite advantages to be gained by maintaining component signals throughout the post-production process, and to this end a complete television news center has been built using component processing throughout. In addition, much development work has been done on a MAC-like component transmission system specifically designed to carry ENG signals between remote sites and the studio.
