Television Tape Recording Nomenclature

This glossary is intended as a general reference to terms used in television tape recording. It is not a complete glossary and avoids outmoded and proprietary terms. It is not meant to be a technical dictionary. Terms used in digital television tape recording are covered in an Engineering Guideline prepared by the SMPTE Television Recording and Reproduction Committee. Like any glossary, it is a living document, and the Journal welcomes comments, additions, and corrections for possible inclusion in future editions.
