Fault-Tolerant Routing Switcher Topologies for Centralized Distribution Systems
Advances in digital storage technology have made it possible to store vast amounts of program material in a central location. In addition, advances in digital distribution technology have made it possible to move this material more efficiently between facilities and, ultimately, deliver it via multiple channels to a mass audience. At the heart of the network, switching and routing must be deterministic, error free, and fault free.
