Introduction: Some Issues with Modern Audio Delivery Systems

In his introduction to the April 2010 issue of the Journal, which also focused on Audio, Tom Scott noted the “evil twins” of “uneven audio loudness and loss of lip sync.” While, as he predicted, these problems are still with us, there is good news on both topics. In addition, in this issue we'll examine “yet another” digital audio issue: “pops and clicks.”
