Preserving Colors and Maximizing Content Quality [Standards Report from the Engineering Vice President]

Hans Hoffmann

Many standards in the professional domain of media and content production are developed to enable interoperability of equipment. In the simplest case this may be baseband coding standards or even as simple as a coaxial cable connector. In more complex cases, standards may define complex layers of the OSI layer model, such as network protocols or even wrapper and file formats. Both user and industry certainly benefit from these standards, because they allow the design of equipment that can interoperate and exchange content.
