What a difference a year makes! Looking back at last year's CEA update, there was not a single mention of Ultra High-Definition. Yet, CEA was on the cusp of releasing resolution and interface requirements for displays using the name Ultra HD. CES followed in January of this year with some 46 models of Ultra HD displays, 40 of which were aimed at the consumer market. Fifteen TV brands showed Ultra HD models. Ultra HD rippled through the first CEA standard this year.
