Interesting Times Help to Define Us [Message from the Executive Director]

Last month, the 86th annual Academy Awards were presented. By most accounts, it was one of the best telecasts in recent memory. ABC estimated nearly 72 million viewers tuned in, which is indicative of the increased viewership from other recent live events, including the Golden Globes awards, the Super Bowl, and the Sochi Olympics. As I remarked in my March 2014 column, live events are truly a great opportunity for broadcasters and our television business.
