An Update from the Joint Task Force on Networked Media

Brad Gilmer, Felix Poulin, Bob Ruhl

The Joint Task Force on Networked Media (JT-NM) was created to help manage the transition from broadcast infrastructures that are based on specialty broadcast equipment and interfaces (SDI, AES, etc.) to IT-based packet networks (Ethernet, IP, etc.). It is jointly sponsored by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), and the Video Services Forum (VSF). The effort spans the entire professional media industry and all of its applications, including live and file-based.
