Update from the Standards Vice President: Evolving Distribution
Bruce Devlin
According to Cisco,1 internet traffic is currently about 150 Exabytes per month. Despite how full my inbox always seems, around 75% of this traffic is a video of one kind or another and not just e-mail. To put it into perspective, if you store a month of global internet traffic on commodity, 4 TByte USB hard disk drives, and then make two vertical stacks from them, they would each be tall enough to reach the International Space Station. That’s a lot of data!
