Introduction to the SMPTE Technology Committee Reports
Looking back on my first 18 months as standards vice president, I’m pleased to say that the Society is looking healthy, the standards pillar has a rich diversity of active projects, and the environment in which we operate continues to change at an ever-increasing pace. You will read in the reports from the technology committees that we have a mix of Standards, Recommended Practices, Registered Disclosure Documents, and SMPTE Technical Specifications flowing through the process. This diversity reflects the changing landscape of product development and the fact that more and more products are software rich or even virtualized services nowadays.
