Transition was the theme this year. In the spring of 2019, for the first time, more Americans paid for streaming video services than for cable TV, according to Deloitte’s “Digital Media Trends Survey.” In addition, 2018 was the first year since 2005 that more Americans received free over-the-air (OTA) TV signals on at least one TV than subscribed to satellite TV service, according to the Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA’s) “Understanding Over-the-Air Antenna Use” report.
