Something We Can All Agree On: Recommendations and Best Practices for Dailies QC

Isaac Spedding, David Hall, Katie Hinsen, James Elliston

A group of professionals working in dailies around the world have identified a need for consistency across the industry, forming a working group to create open databases and references. Dailies are a part of the production process that may be done in one or more regions, often utilizing freelance talent and requiring a significant amount of time and resources for specialized training. Therefore, streamlining this part of a workflow has major cost-saving potential. Focusing initially on Dailies Quality Control (QC), the working group has identified and built a database of taxonomy and definitions as well as determined best practices and recommendations that are consistent and applicable to all projects regardless of studio, type, location, or scale.
