The Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) project was created to be the first completely open specification for delivering high-quality, low-latency, professional media streams over the public internet. A range of technologies are supported in RIST such as automatic repeat reQuest (ARQ), forward error correction (FEC), and encryption using a choice of datagram transport layer security (DTLS) and phase-shift keying (PSK). RIST also supports multiple network configurations including multilink bonding, stream striping, and hitless protection switching.
