The media and entertainment (M&E) industry is more interconnected and digital than ever. With the advent of digital workflows, cloud solutions, and remote collaboration, content security has become a top priority for stakeholders. These stakeholders include content owners, service providers, theaters, and streaming platforms. The stakes are high. Content leaks before release and piracy after release can cause significant revenue losses. This can disrupt funding for future productions, resulting in a loss of work and income for service providers. More critically, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has introduced not only heightened threats, but also expanded opportunities for securing content throughout its lifecycle. Let's explore the current state of content security, the concerns and goals we face moving forward, and the negative and positive impacts AI could have in the industry's fight to keep content secure.
