Super 35; is it Super 35?
There have been lingering thoughts regarding the question “Super 35; Is It Super 35?.” The era of simulcasting television in both 4 × 3 (1.33:1) and 16 × 9 (high-definition television, advanced television, etc.) aspect ratios and how best to prepare for this is now. For the producers and their production companies, there are many questions that require answers so intelligent decisions can be made. This paper presents a better understanding of the available negative area for 4 perf, 3 perf, and Super 16 formats for the future in preparation for both 4 × 3 and 16 × 9 aspect ratios.
